Where are you today?

Before you start your culture change journey, you need to firstly understand what your culture looks like today.

Our employee surveys and focus groups help companies to reveal the current perceptions, expectations and priorities held by groups of staff at every level. They highlight specific challenges within an organisation, enabling us to work together to pinpoint areas that need addressing when formulating your culture change plan.

 

There are five areas of culture we assess:

 

  • Commitment and leadership
  • Supervision and management behaviour
  • Responsibility for safety
  • Engagement in improving safety
  • Communication, employee education and resources.

Paving the way for change at Ipsen

We helped Ipsen actively strengthen its overall safety culture by developing a culture change programme for its 4,500 employees. A company wide culture survey and focus groups revealed important things that the company needed to address but they also learned many positive things, such as how most of their employees were behind the safety message.

From these learnings, a company wide work code, S3 – Step up, Speak out, Stay safe, was developed, to create and communicate a strong vision for improvement. This called for everyone, from employees to senior management to commit to a key set of behaviours. People were encouraged to take the time to examine their own personal behaviours and attitudes and to find ways of making a personal contribution to an improved EHS culture.
