Ian Smith

Over the past 30 years I have held senior health, safety, environmental and quality roles, mainly in the defence sector within the MoD, BAE Systems, Chemring and the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE). I have also spent some time working in the chemical sector mainly with PPG Industries delivering improvements to process safety through worker engagement programmes.

During my time within BAE Systems as the Head of Health & Safety and Director of Health & Safety in Chemring I led culture change programmes in complex international environments delivering significant improvements to business safety performance.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling, travelling and renovating my 300 year-old country cottage.
